Day 2 - Sunshine & Daisies

This morning I awoke to the most beautiful daybreak. Sometime overnight we had reached the calm seas that I prayed for, and I ate breakfast at the Yacht Club. The Yacht Club is on the top deck in the rear of the ship. It is partially inside, but most of the quaint white plastic lawn chairs and tables are situated outside.

It was so beautiful up there. The sea breeze swept through my hair, and only sunshine rained on me. It really was one of the most glorious mornings I have ever experienced.

The day included a brief stint in Kobe where we picked up the remaining 300 passengers to add to the 600 already onboard. Also, I got to go through immigration, but the real highlight was in the evening when we engaged in what could only be described as a spontaneous, midnight, deck rave. I have been in Japan for two years, and not once have I seen any Japanese person dance. It is just not something done in their culture. At weddings, they sing karaoke, and at parties they socialize and mingle, but dancing has never taken place. But this evening was amazing.

It started innocently enough, a little live entertainment, mostly passengers performing their own brand of talent, and then the DJ was supposed to just play a closing song when everyone got up to the center and started dancing. The DJ took the hint and just kept playing until some light showers in the wee hours of morning sent the electronic equipment into hiding.

A good time was held by all.
