An American Girl in Japan

What's it like to be an American Girl in Japan? I'll tell you. I will tell you as much as I am able to, and though I will try to keep persons mentioned annonymous, I want to record my life in Japan. For all to read and for me to remember.

Universal Truths, as Experienced by Me

  1. A Californian is a sitting duck in a snowball fight. We just don't have the proper training to excel in this sport!
  2. There is nothing so white nor silent as freshly fallen snow. Even at night, the land is aglow with an eerie brightness I associate with nighttime in Los Angeles eight years ago.
  3. I can watch both snowfall and students fall on ice slicks all day long with constant amusement.
  4. Three days of steady snowfall will throw a wrench into even the most efficient systems...namely, the Japanese transportation network.

Lesson of the Day

Riding your bike in the snow, is dumb.

Dumb.

Dumb.

Dumb.
