The Fabric of Vietnam

To me this picture really represents my time in Vietnam. The most distinct thing about Vietnam is how beautiful, and brightly colored it is. From the color of buildings or boats to the stunning array of fabrics people wear. Vietnam is color.

Getting Around

There were many times in Vietnam that I felt like taxis were the only normal mode of transportation. Most people preferred motorbikes, but I never would have imagined that it could be a family vehicle. In fact, I was astounded by the many things people did carry on both motorbikes and bicycles; from groceries to long lead pipes, several friends to the days' fishing. It was incredible! I wish I was able to capture more on film.

Visions of Vietnam

The people of Vietnam were so full of life. Though poverty was evident, the people were full of joy, laughter and pride...

Crazy Taxi

I had been told that the traffic in Vietnam is insane. Indeed, the traffic laws are more like...guidlines. This is our taxi driver, Sea (I have no idea how to spell it), and though it took close to a half hour to bargain a decent rate, he did get us where we wanted to go...though we feared for our lives the entire way.

Here is a shot from the front seat of the taxi where, if you look closely, you can see the one way arrows on the street. Note the direction of the motorcycles.
