Kenya In Alphabetical Order

Me, hanging out the window of our hotel. Hi mom!

Elephants - The Magic of Kenya

By far the most impressive and available animal were the elephants. I must have over 100 photos of them in assorted poses. The were so magical, majestic, and enormous, I couldn't help but fall in love with them.

The elephants go marching four by four hoorah, hoorah!

Gazelles & Impalas

There were lots and lots of deer-like animals. I guess there has to be since they are obviously at the bottom of the food chain.

Giraffes

Giraffes are so cute, yet goofy looking. They just don't look possible.

Lions - The Queens of the Jungle

So, I didn't see any male lions, and while if you look closely you might be able to see another lion laying in the brush, this lion only popped up for about two minutes. I am glad I saw her, but I wish I could have seen one in action.

A Stork of the Marabou Variety

This was the ugliest bird I have ever seen, and it was massive.

Sunrise in Africa - Worth the Trip

Sunrise was everything Africa might promise. I felt like I was watching a commercial.

Sunset

Sunset was astounding. The most impossible colors, the most brilliant shades.

Vans - The Urban Beast

In some ways it is difficult to enjoy the sights when you are in bumber to bumber traffic. Over 30 vans were parked here trying to catch a glimpse of two young cheetahs.

Pumba

Warthogs are strange creatures.

Water Buffalo - Scary Dudes

So, water buffalo almost look like cartoons, but they travel in massive packs of at least 50 or so. These guys came buy the watering hole at our hotel about 20 minutes before we departed. I am glad we got to see them before taking off!
Mugshot

Zebras

These zebras were just enjoying a light breakfast.

Cheetahs

These two young cheetahs were trying to enjoy a nice morning walk, but sadly the 30 or so vans that followed their every move disrupted their day so they retreated to the mountains.

Dancers

Included in our stay was a performance by local dancers. They were amazing. You could really feel their energy and heat. This picture absolutely does not do them justice.
